Office Hours
South Brooklyn Dentist is open Monday through Friday, and every other Saturday. After hours Dr. Dressel can be reached via email or through our answering service. The answering service is available 365 days a year.
Directions
The F or G train can be taken to the Carroll St stop on 2nd Place, we are just two blocks from this station, on the left hand side. Metered parking is conveniently located on Court St.
Dr. Jessica Li
Dr. Jessica Li is a periodontist that specializes in the latest innovative techniques employed in the field of periodontal therapy. These include laser periodontal surgery, LANAP, implant therapy, treatment of peri-implantitis, and traditional periodontal therapy (extractions, bone grafting, pocket reduction, gum grafting and sinus augmentation).
Dr. Li received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from Emory University and continued her education at New York University College of Dentistry earning a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. She received her specialty training at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine where she received a Master of Science in Dentistry degree and a post-graduate Certificate in Periodontics.
In her free time, Dr. Li enjoys running (often accompanied by her dog), surfing, playing tennis, and traveling the world. She is bi-lingual in Mandarin.
Dr. Lauren Kerpel
Dr. Lauren Kerpel is an Endodontist specializing in root canal procedures. She possesses extensive knowledge in surgical endodontics, one visit root canal treatment procedures and root canal re-treatments.
Dr. Kerpel graduated from the endodontic program at New York University. Prior to that, she received her doctor of dental surgery degree from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 2007. She also completed a 3-year residency program at New York Hospital Queens and has been practicing in the New York area for over 10 years.
Dr. Kerpel is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists.
Daniella Saraceno
Daniella has worked with Dr. Dressel since 1997, first as his dental assistant, and after attending NYU’s College of Dentistry she became a dental hygienist. She grew up in Carroll Gardens and her parents still live just down the street from the office. Daniella has a formed long lasting relationships with patients that she’s seen for years and in some cases grew up with. Her greatest joy comes from being a mother to her daughter, Gianna.
Dr. Jeffrey Dressel
Dr. Dressel grew up on Long Island. After attending the State University of New York at Albany, he received his DDS Degree from New York University in 1993. Dr. Dressel is married and he and his wife Janet reside in New Jersey with their three children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and long motorcycle rides through the New Jersey countryside.
Larisa Gorsch
Larisa is originally from Russia. She has been working as a Dental Assistant for more than 15 years and has been with Dr. Dressel since 2009.
Additionally, Larisa is a certified Floral Designer. Flowers are her passion and she loves creating floral arrangements.
In her spare time, Larisa enjoys traveling and exploring the world.
Ewelina Segelbach
Ewelina has 15 years experience as a Dental Assistant. She is also cross-trained to assist with Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. She joined the South Brooklyn Dentist team in 2015.
Originally from Poland, Ewelina graduated with a Masters in Psychology. She is the single mother of two daughters and enjoys reading, independent films, (especially documentaries) collecting vinyl records, group running, and hiking. Ewelina is very engaged in local charities.
Dr. Wendy Huang
Dr. Huang is a general dentist who has been practicing in the New York area for over two decades. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1997. She then trained at Columbia University and New York Presbyterian Hospital for an additional two years as a postdoctoral fellow in advanced general dentistry to treat patients with complex and special needs.
She is friendly, detail-oriented, and takes a conservative wholistic approach to customize care in order to ensure patients are comfortable and leave the office smiling with confidence.
Dr. Huang left casual California to live in exciting Brooklyn where she enjoys the city’s energy. She also likes to collect recipes, and every once in a while to attempt them.
Hyacinth Tucker-Harris
Hyacinth Tucker-Harris, MBA, RDH, brings over 20 years of exceptional experience from various aspects of dentistry. She received her AAS in Dental Hygiene and BS in Health Service Administration from New York City College of Technology. She later received her MBA with a focus in Healthcare Management from the University of Scranton.
Hyacinth has volunteered with several health missions where she provided oral health care and education to the underserved communities. She is confident in her abilities which makes her patients feel safe and comfortable.
When she is not in the dental office Hyacinth’s creative skills are evident in her magnificent balloon designs.
Jen Hynes
Jen Hynes is a Registered Dental Hygienist with an Associates degree in Science and Bachelor’s degree in Research from NYU. She has over 20 years experience in dental practices.
Talking about dental needs and answering questions is a joy and pleasure for Jen. When you meet her you will find an honest, optimistic spirit with a friendly approach that will attempt to help you find and accomplish your dental health goals.
Jen was raised near Seattle Washington but is now a proud Brooklyn local community member. When not at The Dental office , you can find her spending time with her children and their beloved dog, marathon training, bike riding, cooking, reading and socializing in the neighborhood or at her home upstate.
Emily Mello
Emily is the newest member to the front office team at South Brooklyn Dentist. She’s been a performer and bartender for most of her time in New York and recently made the transition to working daytime hours at South Brooklyn Dental.
On the weekends you can still find her making tiki drinks, on Smith Street, or fostering kittens in Brooklyn.
Emily brings the same friendly, funny energy to patients in the office and on the phone that she also brings to the stage.
Audri Corbett
Audri is an Office Manager with a friendly face at the front desk who likes to help people. She is happy to answer all questions and resolve any concerns. Her goal, every day, is to provide a positive patient experience.
Audri came to South Brooklyn Dentist from Atlanta, GA with a background in the Fashion & Beauty industry. She is a graduate of Ga State University with a BS in Business Administration.
Dr. Maxim Podolsky
Dr. Maxim Podolsky strives for excellence and provides ultimate attention to detail in all of the services he provides his patients. He received his B.A., and M.S. from Adelphi Universityin 1998. In 2003 he earned his D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, one of only three Ivy League dental schools in the country. While there he received his Specialty Certificate in Periodontics, serving as the Department’s Chief Resident for the next 3 years.
Dr. Podolsky provides comprehensive and innovative solutions to each of his patient’s particular oral health concerns and needs. He has a great ability to customize individual treatment plans to meet each patients’ desires, resources, and time availability. He has a calming manner and is known for his gentle touch. Dr. Podolsky is a talented surgeon whose patients and dentists appreciate the aesthetic and functional results he consistently delivers.
Dr. Podolsky’s training covers all aspects of Periodontics and implant surgery, including soft tissue surgery and the Pinhole Surgical Technique (he is one of only 3,000 dentists in the world trained to perform this procedure). He is also renowned for his expertise in hard tissue reconstruction, bone grafting, gingival (gum) grafting, implants and cosmetic reconstruction.
In addition to his over 15 years of experience as a practitioner, Dr. Podolsky has been an Assistant Clinical Professor at New York University College of Dentistry in the Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry for the past 14 years. He is board certified by the American Board of Periodontology and continues to lecture at numerous dental conferences on state-of-the-art implant and bone grafting techniques.
A resident of Long Island City, Dr. Podolsky loves to spend time with his twin daughters and step daughter. He also enjoys hanging out with Wazy, his 1-year-old golden doodle. Dr. Podolsky is an avid tennis player and skier and has skied all over the world.
